Message from the International DSI Representative
I extend a warm welcome to the participants of the 2007
Conference of the International Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), conducted
in association with the 12th Asia-Pacific DSI Conference. Every other year,
the DSI holds an international conference external to the USA to take
the opportunity to expand its global reach. This year, we have been
fortunate to combine the efforts of the organizing and international
advisory committees by having both the International and Asia-Pacific
conferences together in Bangkok, Thailand, where the very successful 2002
APDSI was conducted.
On behalf of the DSI, I would like to thank the host institutions, the
National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) and Dhurakij Pundit
University (DPU), for once again taking on this responsibility and service
to the DSI. Wonderful support was extended by, Dr. Lersan Bosuwan, Vice
President for Administration of NIDA, and Associate Professor Somboonwan
Satyarakwit, Vice President for Academic Affairs of DPU as well as many of
the members from NIDA and DPU. Of course, this conference would not have
been possible had it not been for the contribution and participation of the
speakers and authors of the conference papers, reviewers and all who helped
in some way.
Let us use this opportunity to develop and strengthen our networks with
faculty and members from different universities and professional
organizations especially from the Asia-Pacific region, the fastest changing
and developing region of the world.
Professor Norma Harrison
President Elect
Decision Sciences Institute
